Some Reviews from Customer:
I am using InterServer’s web hosting for more then 2 years. I am currently running 3 websites at InterServer, and up to this moment I didn’t have any problems with my websites (they are always up and running 24/7).
And when I had some minor issues concerning other aspects of your service – InterServer’s support team was very expeditive and fast in solving those issues.
I hope that I will keep using InterServer’s web hosting service since I’m very satisfied up to this moment with their service.
I have used Interserver for about 4 years. I have both VPS and hosting through Interserver. I feel that I have control of everything I need to keep my sites running the way I want things to run. Their prices are fair and the value of their services is exceptional. I have monitors running to notify me of downtime and occasionally I get a notification, but the downtime is very short and these are rare. I can’t say for sure that the problem is with the monitoring service. I would recommend Interserver as a top-notch VPS and hosting company.
The only thing that brings their support score down is that the first level support has sometimes ask me how to do something I needed them to do for me. Since I work as a help desk technician for another company, not a competitor, my knowledge may be higher than many of the people calling for support. Once my issue is escalated, the issue is always resolved quickly and effectively.
Worst Support Team. Stay away from them. My VPS is down for more than 1 hour and the support team seems to irresponsible. They don’t even mind replying.
When I try to chat with them, the support team member keeps avoiding.
I think all their other reviews are paid reviews.
Interserver Hosting Plans
The Interserver website splits its hosting plans into several categories. It doesn’t focus on shared hosting like many of its competitors.
WordPress hosting is provided on Cloud Linux with a proprietary hosting control panel, unlimited space, unlimited transfer, and free migration from your old provider. Backups are taken weekly, so it’s probably a good idea to add your own daily backup regimen if you choose this package.
VPS hosting can be set up on Linux or Windows, with cPanel or Direct Admin. Linux customers can choose Centos VPS, Ubuntu VPS, FreeBSD VPS, or Debian VPS, and free cPanel migration is included. VPS hosting is based on a cloud infrastructure. There’s no money-back guarantee period on these plans, and they are not managed unless you purchase at least 4 slices with cPanel. Additionally, Interserver says that it will only manage software it has installed itself.
Dedicated servers have dual core processors, and Interserver offers guaranteed hardware replacement when there’s a failure. Quick servers are a type of dedicated server that can be set up within 20 minutes.
WordPress and VPS hosting has an uptime guarantee of 99.9%.
Interserver lets VPS customers choose between its Secaucus, New Jersey or Los Angeles, California datacenters. The NJ facility is owned by the company. The datacenter is split into two facilities, each occupying 8,000 square feet. Features include HVAC, overhead air conditioning, raised floors, biometric locks, fire suppression, and UPS power.
Support is provided via a web portal, and support staff appear to be based in-house. There’s a small knowledgebase, a forum, and a ticket system.
Telephone support is provided 24/7, and you can also get help via email.
Interserver Control Panel
Intserver offers cPanel on Linux plans; it’s a paid add-on with VPS plans, as you’d expect, and you’ll need to be using the right Linux distribution. Users can also use DirectAdmin if they prefer. Windows servers don’t come with a control panel.
The freebies on offer at Interserver don’t differ much from other hosting providers. Shared hosting customers can use a site builder tool and benefit from a range of one-click installers (WordPress, Joomla, phpBB, SMF, and so on). There are no marketing or advertising credits on offer.
Interserver Money Back Guarantee / Cancellation Policy
Interserver provides peace of mind via a 30-day money-back guarantee on shared hosting plans only. Dedicated server, VPS, and colocation customers can request a refund prior to their server being set up, but once that’s done, you’re locked into your plan.
Plans are billed monthly, and there are no long term contracts or exit fees: if you want to leave, just cancel, and you won’t be billed after your current month is up.
Interserver strikes me as having settled into its niche, and it clearly has the technical infrastructure to consider itself established. I imagine much of its revenue comes from colocation in its New Jersey datacenter. This is reflected in the fact that its support material is a little thin, and some of its website content could be kore polished. Its packages aren’t that distinctive, but they’re affordable, and I was impressed by the scalability of its VPS hosting plans.
